Religion in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes is a multi-cultural community and many different religions are represented..

The Church of Christ the Cornerstone was Britain's first purpose-built ecumenical church and is sponsored by five major Christian denominations: Baptist, Methodist, Church of England, United Reform and Roman Catholic.

Many other religious denominations have facilities in Milton Keynes, including two Mosques, a Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist Temple and a Synagogue.

The Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda was completed in 1980 and is located at the northern edge of Willen Lake. It was the first Peace Pagoda to be located in the western world. There is a Nipponzan-Myōhōji Order temple and monastery nearby. The Pagoda is designed to provide a focus for people of all races and creeds, and to help unite them in their search for world peace.
