Entertainment
Milton Keynes is a thriving cosmopolitan city with entertainment experiences to engage all ages and all tastes. And we take pride in being at the leading edge when it comes to new leisure and entertainment activities.
This began back in1985, when Milton Keynes was chosen to be the site of the UK's first ever multiplex cinema, The Point. The desire to innovate became part of our culture - exemplified by the opening of the giant Xscape complex, which houses one of the UK's longest indoor real-snow ski slopes, indoor sky-diving, a multiplex cinema and a ten pin bowling alley. Milton Keynes has also became home to two innovative theme parks, Gulliver's Land and Gulliver's Dinosaur & Farm Park, both giving children an opportunity to get excited, learn, explore and have fun.
The City has two notable museums:
- Bletchley Park - home to the famous Enigma codebreakers who changed the course of World War II and attracting visitors from around the world
- Milton Keynes Museum - which follows the history of the Milton Keynes area, including North Buckinghamshire and South Northamptonshire, from 1800 to the present day
And the surrounding countryside has a wealth of attractions, too, including: Woburn Abbey, Woburn Safari Park, Woburn Championship Golf Course, Silverstone motor racing circuit, Towcester racecourse and a host of National Trust properties including Claydon House and Stowe.
